LMS Streamlined Coronation (with figure Limited Edition) The Great Railway Engineers Collection Steam Locomotive
Expected Delivery August 2026 (Subject to Change at Manufacturer's Discretion).
The LMS Streamlined 'Coronation' model locomotive is a limited edition item and part of The Great Railway Engineers Collection. This Collection marks 150 years since Sir Stanier's birth, and this locomotive includes a figure. With a shiny bold red livery and NEM tension lock couplings, this steam locomotive is a must-have for collectors.
The āPrincess Coronationā Class, also known as the āDuchessā Class, was an enlarged and improved version of William Stanierās successful āPrincess Royalā Class āPacificā. The first ten class members emerged from Crewe Works in a streamlined form during 1937 and five of these were put aside specifically for hauling the prestigious āCoronation Scotā between London Euston and Glasgow Central. These were painted in Caledonian blue and had silver horizontal lining, which matched the carriages they pulled.
No. 6220 set a new British steam speed record of 114mph in 1937, but this was beaten by the LNERās āMallardā in 1938. Built with a single chimney, 6220 was the last of the original 15 to be fitted with a double blast pipe and chimney in 1944. The locomotiveās streamlined casing was removed in November 1946, and it finished its career in its rebuilt form with smoke deflectors as BRās 46220 in April 1963.
